Key West, Florida: The Beach Bum’s Paradise PDF Print E-mail

You can hear the Jimmy Buffett song “Margaritaville” rolling out of every Café and bar in Key West, Florida. The city is an amazing experience for the vacationing traveler. It is located on the southernmost tip of the United States. Key West is the most miraculous vacation to be had in the state. Key West is very laid back and the residents are not surprised if you take off your bathing suit and soak up some sun in the nude. For the more modest tourist you can fight back with a cool cocktail and lay between two coconut trees in a hammock enjoying the ocean breezes and the cool tropical atmosphere.

Located about a half day's drive from Miami, the traveler will soon realize that they are closer to the island of Cuba than they are to the city of Miami. Home of Ernest Hemingway and Tennessee Williams, the city welcomes vacationers into their paradise with small quaint bed and breakfast inns and world-class resorts. Vacationers can visit the Key West Aquarium to see the sea life up close. After that you can stroll down Duval Street and shop in the many shops, bistros, and cafés. After a day at the beach you can have some beer and oysters at the famous Hogs Breath Saloon. Key West can be accessed by land, sea, or air. It has a small airport in which you can fly in or you can bring your own boat and have an adventure traveling down the Florida coast. By car you can access Key West by only one way which is Highway 1, a highway that runs down the entire Atlantic coast of the United States.
